Organizing Institute
Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Crete, Greece is a public university of applied sciences and technology comprising the schools of:
- Agricultural Technology,
- Applied Sciences,
- Applied Technology,
- Health and Social Welfare and
- Management and Economics
It numbers more than 20,000 students, academics and administrators comprisinga successful academic community that is supported by a well-equipped library, a sports complex, a health centre, and modern student housing. The TEI has considerable involvement in research projects, has signed more than 110 ERASMUS bilateral agreements with European universities and has an extensive network of business and social partners throughout the Globe. It currently implements its next moves towards the West Balkans, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Middle Eastern and other Mediterranean countries. Outside the EU, the TEI has successfully collaborated so far in educational programmes with Higher Education Institutions in the USA and South America and is now actively seeking collaboration with institutions in both Asia and Oceania to offer global opportunities to its students and staff. Its location in Crete, at the crossroads of three continents and multiple cultures,and its international contacts make the TEI perfectly suited for participating in multicultural research and academic projects. Moreover, the TEI has extensive experience in implementing EU funded projects and has a well-equippedand adequately staffed Projects’ Financial Management Office. Currently, the Institute is implementing 73 EU funded research projects of almost 14.000.000 € total budget worth. Recently, the TEI of Crete was awarded the 2013 European Erasmus Award for investing in staff and student exchanges and teaching quality.
